This was made known in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Henry Okoye.

According to the statement, the cheque presentation ceremony, held in Owerri, forms part of activities marking Day 4 of the National Police Week celebration, in honour of the sacrifices and dedication of fallen officers of the Nigeria Police Force.

Speaking at the event, CP a Bosso reiterated the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force, under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, to the welfare of officers and their families.

He emphasised that the gesture, facilitated through the Police Force Insurance Scheme, is a clear demonstration that the sacrifices of fallen officers will never be forgotten.
