“The Command assures the public that there is absolutely no attempt at a cover-up as such hideous acts are at variance with the Code of Conduct and professional ethics of the Nigeria Police Force.

“To this end, CP Fayoade once again assures Nigerians that the officer would be dealt with in accordance with police regulations and the law if found culpable,” Hundeyin said.

The police spokesman also assured that the police are not attempting to water the allegation down as being insinuated by some people.

“Also, it is important not to approach issues with emotions, as doing so might create lacunas that will make the court strike the case out on technical grounds,” he stated.

The 17-year-old revealed, it was gathered had reported to her mother that she was threatened and had a gun cocked as she was hit with the same gun before the police Officer sexually assaulted her in his office.

This she said was as the officer at the Ogudu Police Station, Area H Command promised to help her in tracking and retrieve her stolen mobile phone.
