Police Warn Politicians Against Threat To Peace In Benue

The commissioner of police in Benue State,  Wale Abass, has warned that the command would not spare anyone or party that decides to truncate its effort to maintain peace before, during and after the 2023 general elections.

The commissioner who make his views known during a meeting with the leadership of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP)  and All Progressives Congress (APC) called on party members to adhere to the peace pact earlier signed by all party executives.

The chairman of the APC, Hon. Austin Agada and that of the PDP, Hon. Isaac Teryilla Mffo who were in attendance reiterated their commitment to ensure peace throughout the election period.

A statement by the police public relations officer Catherine Anene disclosed that the meeting which was meant to address  clashes between political rallies in the state was convened by the commissioner of police.
