Mamman said transforming our common wealth for education entails investing in accessible and equitable educational opportunities, promoting innovation in teaching, amongst others.
The Commonwealth of Nations is a unique international association of 56 countries that span across six continents united chiefly by the commitment to attain and promote peace and prosperity for member States.
It is usually herald by a theme chosen by the Commonwealth secretariat to reflect the values, priorities and aspirations of the Commonwealth.
This year, the theme “One Resilient Common Future: Transforming Our Common Wealth”, touches on the peculiar challenges facing the dissemination of Education in Nigeria.
Speaking at the event, the Minister stressed the need to prioritise transformative action in key areas such as education, healthcare, and economic empowerment. Education stands at the heart of our collective aspirations for a better future.

“It is the foundation of empowerment, drives social mobility, promotes innovation and nurtures the leaders of tomorrow. Therefore, investing in quality education for all, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or socio-economic background, must remain a top priority for all Commonwealth nations.
“Furthermore, as we navigate the complexities of a rapidly changing world, we must embrace the principles of sustainability and inclusivity in Education and all other aspects of our development agenda. This entails promoting green technologies, empowering marginalized communities, and fostering partnerships that leave no one behind.”

Also speaking, the Minister of State for Education, Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu said the Federal Government of Nigeria “Renewed Hope Agenda” reiterates that quality education improves literacy rates, enhances skills, nurtures innovation, and empowers individuals to participate effectively in the workforce and society.
