A coalition of professionals, politicians and leaders of thought has emerged in Delta State to promote harmony and build cohesion ahead of the 2027 elections.
The group, Delta North Progressives (DNP), is in a decisive move to amplify its influence in the forthcoming electoral cycle with the aim of ensuring that the Delta North senatorial district takes its rightful place in the political landscape of the state and beyond.
A press statement signed by the convener, Prof Leroy Edozien, said that the initiative seeks to promote unity, visibility and assertiveness across the nine local government areas of the district.
“Leaders in the progressive movement must work in harmony, build cohesion and uphold the basic tenets of democracy,” Edozien emphasised.
Invariably, the self-funded group has begun engaging prominent individuals from Anioma, the region’s ethnic identity to share its vision and garner support.
“These outreach efforts are designed to foster widespread collaboration among stakeholders and ensure that the district remains a formidable force in shaping future political developments.
“Brainstorming sessions have also been conducted to refine the group’s strategies and goals, with the strong conviction that a united front will secure a more equitable political representation for Delta North in the next dispensation.
“We are committed to ensuring that our district gets a fair deal, politically speaking,” the statement affirmed.
