The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has approved the outcome of its primary election appeal process, confirming former Cross River State governor, Donald Duke, as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections, alongside 420 other candidates across various positions nationwide.

In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Muhammed Ishaq, the National Working Committee (NWC) said it had concluded its review of the report submitted by the primaries appeal committee and formally adopted its recommendations.

The party said the appeal committee upheld several primary election results, thereby clearing most candidates to participate in the upcoming general elections under the PRP platform.

It noted that four additional primary election outcomes were also affirmed by the committee, strengthening the party’s final list of approved candidates.

However, the committee nullified the primary election for Tarauni Federal Constituency due to identified irregularities.

With the approval, the PRP confirmed that it will field a total of 420 candidates across presidential, national, and state-level positions in the 2027 general elections.

The party said the decision reflects its commitment to internal democracy and transparent selection processes within its ranks.

“We remain committed to principles of internal democracy and service and to delivering a credible and transformative leadership for Nigeria,” the statement added.
