QNET, a global lifestyle and wellness-focused direct-selling company that operates with integrity, has expressed concern over individuals who misuse its name for illegal activities.

This concern arises following the apprehension of certain individuals who claimed to be Independent Representatives (IRs) of QNET by regulatory authorities in Nigeria.

These individuals, immigrants from Cameroon and Cote d’Ivoire who lacked valid travel documents, were arrested by the Nigerian Police Force, Ogun State Command, and subsequently handed over to the state’s Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS). Additionally, the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Benue Command deported 18 Cameroonian irregular immigrants residing in Makurdi, Benue state, on another occasion.

In a press statement made available to LEADERSHIP, the company strongly condemned the actions of these individuals, while pledging to cooperate with authorities to address the issue.

“We are deeply troubled by the recent developments involving allegations of fraudulent activities and illegal migration. We want to clarify that our company is not involved in these reported incidents and firmly disassociates itself from any illegal practices. We pledge to work with the authorities to address the situation. We are also conducting an internal investigation and will take disciplinary action against any IR implicated,” it stated.

The management of QNET reiterated its commitment to integrity and adherence to ethical standards, adding that it is dedicated to empowering individuals through entrepreneurship and providing legitimate opportunities for financial growth. The company actively collaborates with legal authorities in African countries to address brand misrepresentation by identifying these individuals and providing the necessary documents to the authorities.

“QNET holds its employees and IRs to high ethical standards and implements strict policies and procedures to protect distributors and customers from unlawful and fraudulent behavior.”

The company emphasized its commitment to the well-being of its customers and stakeholders, stating it has established robust processes and systems for transparency, compliance, and stakeholder protection. “Our Direct Selling Disinformation Centre (DSDC) and previous media campaigns, such as the Public Announcement Campaign and Mama Campaign in Ghana, demonstrate our commitment to this cause,” it added.

QNET is currently running the Say NO! Awareness Campaign in Nigeria, Senegal, and Burkina Faso to educate communities about the dangers of fake job offers used by fraudsters to lure people into human trafficking.

“Additionally, we have an ongoing Social Awareness Campaign that provides Nigerians with valuable information and resources to protect them from potential scams. These activities highlight QNET’s dedication to ethical business practices, underscoring the company’s principles of transparency, integrity, and consumer empowerment,” it stated.

The company encouraged individuals affected by these alleged incidents to report them to the appropriate authorities and to QNET, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining the trust of its customers, partners, and the communities it serves.

“We will continue to operate with honesty, integrity, and a commitment to improving lives through our products, services, and business opportunities. To report fraudulent activities, kindly contact us via QNET’s website,” it advised.
