Rainbow Fruit Yogurt Parfait With Crunchy Granola: A Healthy Delight For Kids

It’s easy to fall into the trap of eating foods coated with sugar, salt, and unhealthy fats for kids, but as parents, understanding the importance of fueling the little ones with the nutrients they need to thrive, and grow is very important. Sometimes, we load our kids with foods that are very high in salt, saturated fat and sugar, but low in fibre.  The truth is that regularly eating these foods can increase the risk of health conditions like childhood obesity and type-2 diabetes. I totally agree that coaxing children to embrace nutritious foods often feels like a task, fraught with resistance and frustration, so, these are easy and practical recipe aimed at empowering you as a parents to understand that delicious can also imply nutritious! Try this nutrient- and flavour-rich kid-friendly recipe while fostering a positive relationship with food.

 

Ingredients:

1 cup Greek yogurt (plain or flavored)

Assorted fruits, such as strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, mango, and grapes, chopped or sliced

1/2 cup granola (choose a low-sugar or homemade variety)

Honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)

Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)

2.Layer Yogurt and Fruits: Start by spooning a layer of Greek yogurt into serving glasses or bowls. Add a layer of chopped fruits on top of the yogurt. Repeat the layering process until the glasses are filled, alternating between yogurt and fruits to create a visually appealing rainbow effect.

3.Add Granola Crunch: Sprinkle a generous amount of granola over the top of each parfait, adding a delightful crunch and texture to every spoonful.
