Arrangements have reached an advanced stage for the commencement of the rehabilitation of Bauchi – Dindima-Gombe Road project awarded by the federal government.
LEADERSHIP Weekend gathered that the major components of the project also include the construction of bridges and culverts from Alkaleri local government area of Bauchi State to Gombe to reduce the incessant cutting off of roads along the corridor, especially in the rainy season.

Governor Bala Mohammed announced the plan at the ground groundbreaking ceremony of a 29-kilometre road from Dindima to Maina Maji in Bauchi and Alkaleri local government area awarded by his administration.
The governor who commended Vice President Kashim Shettima for his commitment towards the actualisation of the project maintained that when completed, it would address the transportation challenges being experienced by commuters.

At the inauguration of Dindima to Maina Maji Project, Governor Bala Mohammed said about ten billion naira was approved to provide smooth access to Yankari Games Reserve, and enhance transportation and commercial activities for the benefiting communities and tourists.
State commissioner, Ministry for Works and Transport, Ibrahim Galadima who said the work is to be completed in 18 dry-months assured that the ministry would ensure strict adherence to the contract specifications.
