Members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, who recently dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC), have ruled out the possibility of returning to the former party.

The Rt. Hon. Martins Amaewhule-led lawmakers, who are loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, had on Wednesday withdrew the impeachment notice served on Governor Siminalayi Fubara.

The withdrawal of the impeachment notice was part of the resolution reached during a peace meeting at the instance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to find solution to the face-off between Wike and Fubara.

Speaking to newsmen in Port Harcourt, the member representing Asari-Toru Constituency 2 in the House of Assembly, Hon. Enemi Alabo George, said the pro-Wike lawmakers had passed the rubicon and would not go back to PDP.

George stated that they moved to the APC to join hands with President Tinubu to make sure that the expectation of Nigerians were fulfilled.

He said: “We have crossed that rubicon. We moved to the APC. I told you the other day that we cannot continue because of the division in our party.

“We voted for the President and if the President is worthy of our votes, then, he should be worthy of our support. We have moved over to support the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’.
