Nigeria’s Ogochukwu Modesta Ogili has added a silver medal to Team Nigeria’s tally at the ongoing Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Ogili achieved her silver medal in the women’s shot put F55/56 event on Tuesday afternoon, finishing with a throw of 7.35 metres.
She secured second place behind Bahrain’s Rooba Alomari, who claimed gold with a throw of 7.39 metres.
Throughout the competition, Ogili attempted throws of 6.94m, 6.67m, 7.35m, 7.25m, 7.24m, and 7.32m before achieving her best distance.
With Ogili’s remarkable performance, Team Nigeria’s medal count now stands at 17, comprising six gold, seven silver, and four bronze medals.
