Wife of Lagos State governor, Dr. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu has acknowledged the role of women in nation-building, saying their significant contributions have positively influenced the economic and political growth of the Nation.

Mrs. Sanwo-Olu who stated this at Year 2024 Muslim Sisters’ Seminar held at the Banquet Hall,  Lagos House, Ikeja, noted that the annual gathering has grown into a significant platform for Muslim women to engage, learn, and take actionable steps towards the good of our society.

The governor’s wife, represented at the event by the wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Oluremi Hamzat highlighted the incredible roles of women in their respective homes, workplace, various worship Centres among others, emphasizing that women are truly the salt needed to create a balance in this world.

She maintained that women generally are catalysts for nurturing, guiding, and reforming future generations.

According to her, “Our Women are embodiment of love, strength, sacrifice, courage and the principles and faith imbued by women into the souls of a nation are indispensable for sustainable development”

Dr Sanwo-Olu explained that the theme for the programme, “Society on the Brink: Islam to the Rescue”, further underscores the immense potential and responsibilities of women in navigating the complexities of the present contemporary society.

Dr. Sanwo-Olu charged participants to uphold the values of Islam, embrace societal responsibilities and work towards building a resilient and thriving society.
