Save the Children International has appointed Kunle Olawoyin as the regional media manager of the organisation.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the regional director for advocacy, campaigns, communications and media for West and Central Africa, Ms Vishna Shah.

She said, “I am pleased to announce that Kunle will be joining the regional team to cover the regional media manager for a period of six months.  He will officially join the regional office in Dakar, Senegal on April 28, 2023. As many of you may know, Kunle joined Save the Children, Nigeria country office in 2018 as information and communication coordinator and was later assigned as information and external communication specialist. He rose to become media and communications manager in 2021.

Kunle is a trained journalist and development communications/campaign professional. Kunle has worked in both broadcast and print media in Nigeria in the past. He joined the humanitarian and development world in 2008 and has worked with local, national and international non-governmental organisations, namely; Nigerian Conservation Foundation, Oxfam GB and Oxfam International.  Kunle holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and a master’s degree in Communication Studies. Kunle has also graduated with an LL. B Law and crowned it with a master’s degree in Law (LL.M). His LL.M. thesis was on the Application of International Humanitarian Law in Internal Armed Conflict.
