American actress Selma Blair became emotional during a court appearance in Queens, New York, on Monday, October 12, where she pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree assault.
The 54-year-old actress is accused of kicking a Port Authority police officer and a nurse during separate incidents, according to court documents and reports by US media.

A criminal court affidavit alleges that Blair repeatedly kicked officer Maria Suarez in the face, neck and chest while the officer was on duty. Suarez reportedly suffered facial swelling and substantial pain.
Blair is also accused of kicking registered nurse Ashley DeLeo in the chest at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center around 2 a.m. on October 12, as the nurse assisted with her transfer for further medical treatment.
Footage shared by NBC 4 New York showed Blair appearing tearful in court. Judge Indira Kahn set bail at $20,000 cash, $60,000 bond or a $60,000 partially secured bond.
Blair was released later that evening after being taken from hospital to Queens Central Booking.
The actress’s publicist previously said Blair had experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct and was in stable condition after receiving medical attention.
