The senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Sharafadeen Alli, the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Francis Alao and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State have condemned the last Friday’s attack on some schools and communities in Oriire local government area.

They urged the government to take active measures against insecurity.

Alli, in a statement issued in Ibadan, described the incident as painful, disturbing and unfortunate.

According to the police, armed hoodlums riding motorcycles simultaneously attacked Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota, as well as Community Grammar School and L: a Primary School, Esiele.

The lawmaker expressed deep sympathy with the affected families, praying Almighty God to comfort them and grant the abducted victims safe and speedy freedom from captivity.

He urged the families not to lose hope, expressing confidence that God would intervene and ensure the safe return of all abductees to reunite with their loved ones.

Alli, who is also the governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general election, commended the Oyo State Police Command under the leadership of CP Ayodeji Abimbola for the ongoing rescue efforts aimed at securing the release of the victims and apprehending the perpetrators.

He called on security agencies to intensify efforts toward ensuring the abductees were rescued unhurt, while those behind the criminal act were brought to justice without delay.

The senator appealed to residents of the affected communities to cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information that could aid ongoing investigations and rescue operations.

Alli prayed for the repose of the souls of those reportedly killed during the attacks, including the Assistant Headmaster, Mr Adesiyan and the commercial motorcycle rider, urging residents to remain vigilant and security conscious.

Also, the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Francis Alao, has condemned the attacks by gunmen on Yawota and Esiele communities in Oriire Local Government of Oyo State.

He also sympathised with the families of those who were reportedly killed and kidnapped in the dastardly act.

Condemning the attack in a statement, Oba Alao expressed shock, describing the attack as barbaric and a criminal act that should never be condoned.

The monarch said the communities that came under attack were known to be peaceful, where residents cohabited in love and enjoyed smooth economic and socio-cultural activities.

Oba Alao expressed profound condolences to the families who lost their loved ones, and those whose family members and relations were kidnapped by the bandits.
