An elder brother to former governor of Sokoto State and incumbent Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, Alhaji Liman Tambari Wamakko (Ubandoman Lokobi) is dead.
He died on Sunday at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto during a brief illness and was buried according to the Islamic rites.
The funeral prayer for the late Wamakko, who died at the age of 86, was led by the chief imam of Wamakko Central Mosque, Liman Shehu Ardo Wamakko.
It was attended by the younger brother to the deceased, Senator Aliyu Wamakko, Sokoto State governor Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, the speaker Sokoto State House of Assembly, Hon Tukur Bala Bodinga, the secretary to the state government (SSG), Muhammadu Bello Sifawa and a former minister of police affairs, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi (Katukan Sokoto).
After the burial, Senator Wamakko recalled that they were 11 in their family, including the late Ubandoma Liman Tambari, but now only three of them are left.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive all the sins of the deceased and reward him with Jannatul Firdausi as his final abode.
The senator’s spokesperson, Bashar Abubakar, said special prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of the deceased by Mallam Muhammadu Dangande Wamakko, the chief imam of Dinkyal Jumu’at Mosque, in Wamakko local government area of the state.
