The free medical outreach frequently organised by Senator Binos Yaroe is targeting 15,000 patients in Demsa, one of the nine local government areas constituting his Adamawa South Senatorial Zone.
During the four-day outreach which was flagged off on Thursday, Senator Yaroe said the programme is to ensure that his constituents get free and top-quality medical services at their doorsteps.
“I know the value of health. I was sick last December. I know what it takes to be healthy. That is why I don’t take lightly the health conditions of my constituents,” he said.
The senator urged relevant authorities to prioritise primary healthcare by ensuring that not only structures are put in place, but also manpower that would utilise facilities for the benefit of the masses.
In his remarks, the Adamawa State Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr Felix Tangwami, who was represented by the principal medical officer of the Demsa Cottage Hospital, Dr Pongri Mivanyi, commended Senator Yaroe for frequently stepping in to fill health delivery gaps.
