CUT DOWN ON SOCIAL MEDIA TIME
Research has shown that increased use of social media can cause or contribute to depression and low self-esteem. Social media can be addictive and reduce staying connected with family, friends, and even co-workers. Limiting time on social media can help prevent depression.

STRESS RELIEF
Chronic stress is one of the most common avoidable causes of depression. Learning how to manage and deal with stress is essential for optimal mental health.

EXERCISE REGULARLY
Regular exercise is one of the best things you can do for your mental health. Exercise can help calm the central nervous system and also lower immune system chemicals that can worsen depression.

SLEEP A LOT
Adequate sleep is necessary for both mental and physical health. For better sleep, don’t look at any screen for 2 hours before going to bed, Meditate before sleeping, have a comfortable mattress and avoid caffeine after noon.

EAT WELL

If you regularly exercise, get enough sleep and eat well, maintaining a healthy weight is a must.

Several different prescription drugs can cause depression as a side effect. Read the label carefully before taking it. You can talk to your doctor and see if other medications or treatments can address your condition without causing depression as a side effect.
