Dukiya Co-founder and Head of Business & Growth, Lukman Shobowale, has been nominated for the 2023 ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ in the prestigious Future Awards Africa (previously known as The Future Awards).
Shobowale bagged the nomination with some other famous young persons including Guiness World Records holder for an individual marathon cooking, Hilda Baci; famous athlete, Tobi Amusan, amongst others.
The award billed to hold on October 22, 2023 is given by The Future Project, a social enterprise communications firm affiliated to Red Africa.
It is intended to celebrate young people between the ages of 18 and 31, who have made outstanding achievements in the year under consideration.
Speaking with journalists on Wednesday about the nomination, Shobowake said, “I’m standing on the same grounds and united in purpose with history makers, nation builders, and industry reformers, the fact that our work over the years has brought us to this point, makes this moment a gratifying one for me.
“I’m elated that I’m singled out of millions of young and ambitious entrepreneurs in Nigeria for this nomination.”
Speaking further, one of the nation’s most celebrated estate developers declared that as an entrepreneur who’s conscious about creating a transgenerational brand that thrives for generations, it is an auspicious occasion for me because the core of Future Awards Africa aligns with my vision of building for the future.
He maintained that defying the odds and inspiring greatness is the themed of his life’s story.
“I think it is a striking representation of grit, audacity, and the power to dare greatly, fighting against the tides of circumstances and the 1001 odds stacked against the average Nigerian, and daring greatly to scale uncharted heights.
“Being nominated for the prize for entrepreneurship award by The Future Awards Africa is a pat on the back for me, acknowledging the onerous task of building a sustainable brand as a Nigerian in Nigeria,” he added.
