Addressing journalists at the board office, Hisba Commander Usman Jatau also revealed some rules and regulations that residents are expected to abide by in the metropolis.

He said nobody has come out to claim the confiscated suspected alcoholic drinks. Hisba would consult the state commissioner of justice and attorney general to determine the following line of action.

While reeling out sets of rules and regulations expected to guide the conduct of residents in the state, the commander said the laws and regulations are not intended to target anybody with the intention of witch hunts, causing chaos, or disrupting the peaceful nature of the state but instead will serve as guiding principles in the day-to-day activities of the people of the state.

He emphasised the need to fear Allah (SWT) in all dealings and avoid all prohibited activities, such as mingling and blending between males and females.

According to him, the rules are also expected to be followed, “dress code, and social business interaction and relationships, which must be in line with the procedure permitted by Islamic law.

“Taking any advantage at any place or a hideout for practising any immoral act is prohibited; Assaulting and cheating any Muslim fellow, directly or indirectly, must not be practised among others.

“The teaching of Shariah carries out all ceremonies, celebrations and anniversaries.

Taking advantage and selling any substance and illicit drugs at any public gathering, ceremonies or at any event is also forbidden.”
