The group managing director of SO&U, Udeme Ufot, will deliver a presentation on “Destination Branding” at the forthcoming National Advertising Conference organised by the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON).
According to a statement by SO&U, the annual conference, themed “Marketing Communications: Transforming Businesses and Creating Growth in Challenging Times,” will bring together policymakers, thought leaders, and professionals across the marketing, advertising, and communications sectors to discuss strategies for business growth and industry transformation in Nigeria’s evolving economic landscape.
Ufot’s session will focus on destination branding as a strategic tool for positioning, perception management, and socio-economic advancement. Drawing from his extensive experience, he will highlight SO&U’s work on initiatives such as Destination Cross River for the Cross River State Government and the Dakkada Initiative in Akwa Ibom State, which evolved into the Arise Agenda. These projects, he noted, demonstrate how branding can foster unity, identity, and economic progress.
He is expected to emphasise the roles of vision, creativity, and collaboration in shaping a compelling image that attracts investment, builds stakeholder confidence, and promotes national pride.
