Spain Veteran Hermoso Leaves Tigres After 2 Years

Spain veteran Jenni Hermoso has left Mexican club Tigres Femenil after two years with the side.

The 36-year-old forward, who has won 125 caps for Spain, joined Tigres in 2024 after an 18-month spell with fellow Mexican club Pachuca.

Hermoso previously played for Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain during a distinguished club career.

“I’m leaving Tigres very happy with everything I’ve experienced, but also sad, of course, because I don’t like saying goodbye, while knowing full well that this is the best thing that has ever happened to me in life,” an emotional Hermoso said in a video posted on X.

Her departure comes three years after the controversy surrounding former Spanish Football Federation president Luis Rubiales deeply affected her career and Spanish football.

Following Spain’s victory at the 2023 Women’s World Cup, Rubiales kissed Hermoso on the lips without her consent during the medal ceremony.

The incident triggered widespread international condemnation and eventually led to Rubiales resigning from his positions. In February 2025, a Madrid court found him guilty of sexual assault.
