Speaking during a one-day stakeholders engagement workshop, the state commissioner, Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning, Alhaji Abduljabbar Umar, said the current effort in developing a comprehensive master plan is a significant step toward rewriting history for prosperity and progress in the state.

Represented by the ministry’s permanent secretary, Town Planner Muhammad Yahuza, the commissioner said stakeholders and partners would discuss, strategise and chart a way for a new master plan that conforms with modern development, preserving the past and providing for the future.

The commissioner highlighted that, when implemented, the new master plan would promote sustainable development, enhance infrastructural development, foster economic growth, preserve heritage and ensure inclusivity.

While reaffirming the commitment of the present administration under the leadership of Governor Abba Yusuf, to transforming the state into a modern city, he noted that the master plan will accommodate growth, improve quality of life and encourage innovation.

She urged participants to actively participate in the review process to develop a master plan that will help the state thrive and provide opportunities for all citizens.
