Sterling Bank Ltd has reiterated its commitment to health, wellbeing and sustainable economic development through its participation in The Art of Wellbeing experience, held recently at ISIMI Lagos.

The wellness-focused event brought together public and private sector leaders, wellness advocates, and creatives to discuss the links between wellbeing, tourism, and the creative economy, with an emphasis on investment opportunities and sector growth. It was attended by Sterling Bank’s managing director and chief executive officer, Abubakar Suleiman, and senior officials of the Lagos State government, including the deputy director, Research and Development at the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture,  Emmanuel Benson Okwuokenyen, and the special assistant to the governor on Tourism, Damilola Ayinde-Marshal.

Speaking at the event, Suleiman said wellbeing should be treated as an economic enabler, noting that prioritising physical and mental health boosts productivity, reduces healthcare costs and strengthens value chains across tourism, hospitality and the creative industries.

The day-long programme featured wellness pods, creative installations, mindfulness and fitness sessions, as well as a farm-to-table culinary experience, set within ISIMI Lagos’ nature-based environment. Organisers said the event highlighted Lagos’ growing appeal as an experiential tourism destination and the need for collaboration among policymakers, private-sector players, and creative communities.

Also speaking, head, Tourism and Creative Arts Business at Sterling Bank, Abiola Adelana, said the bank recognises the potential of the wellness and creative sectors to drive sustainable economic value and improve quality of life.

Sterling Bank said its participation in initiatives such as The Art of Wellbeing aligns with its strategy of supporting sectors that promote inclusive growth and position Nigeria as a hub for lifestyle, wellness and tourism experiences.
