Expressing her satisfaction with the intervention, Maryam Hassan, a community resident, said that for years, her community has been battling issues of having portable water, especially during the dry season, when their wells go dry, and they have to trek long distances in search of water.

Feeling relieved about handling dirt and house chores, she said, “Now we have safe drinking water and what to help us tidy our homes.”

During the project’s commissioning on Wednesday, LG’s head of corporate marketing, Mr. Paul Mba, expressed the company’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and community empowerment.

He said the initiative is part of LG’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, which fosters sustainable development and elevates the quality of life for underserved communities. He noted that, in 2025, the company intends to reach out to 50 communities in Nigeria through CSR. Kawaji Saunar MamaU community is the ninth project that has been carried out so far.

“Water is a basic necessity. At LG, we are dedicated to leveraging technology to enhance lives. By integrating solar power into this project, we guarantee that the community will enjoy long-term access to clean water without the burden of high energy costs.”

While noting that the borehole is equipped with a state-of-the-art purification system that ensures the water meets safe drinking standards, he noted that the borehole tends to benefit hundreds of households, significantly reducing the incidence of waterborne diseases and improving overall community health.

In his remarks, the district head of Nassarawa LGA, Kabiru Hashiru, thanked LG for the project and urged the community members to ensure proper maintenance for their benefit.
