A former governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State, Chief David Sabi Kente, says he has resisted moves to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Kente told newsmen in Abuja that he was satisfied with the steps taken by the party and President Bola Tinubu to correct the lapses in the polity.
The party chieftain said he was one of the people who brought the APC to Southern Taraba in 2016.
He said the people of Taraba had previously completely rejected the APC, but having contributed to its many successes, they cannot abandon it now, or maybe in the future.
Kente admitted that the party may have derailed in the beginning, especially in terms of appointments, but maintained that the APC-led government was putting the country and the neglected on the path of development.
He said President Tinubu is extending his hand of fellowship to the North, as evidenced by the recent appointment of Prof. Yilwadtda Nentawe as chairman of the APC.
Chief David Kente, a tax expert, said the new tax law would help ease the economic hardship being experienced by the citizens, including the removal of the fuel subsidy, which worsened the country’s economic situation.
