President Bola Tinubu has re-appointed Kenny Osebi Anuwe as the managing director/chief executive officer (CEO), FGN Power Company Limited.
He also re-appointed Prof Mamman Lawal as the company’s secretary/legal advisor.
The President also approved the appointment of four Nigerian professionals to serve as executive directors of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), in furtherance of his efforts to substantially enhance the quality and quantity of electric power wheeled across the nation’s power grid.
The appointments were conveyed in a statement issued by presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale on Friday.

For the TCN, the four executive directors appointed for a renewable term of four years include: Oluwagbenga E.A. Ajiboye – executive director, Transmission Service Provider; Nafisatu Asabe Ali — executive director, Independent System Operations; Ochije Ogini Chukwuka — executive director, Finance & Accounts and Abiodun Foluso Afolabi — executive director, Human Resources & Corporate Services.
Ngelale said that the appointment of three new members was also approved for the FGN Power Company. They are: chief technical officer (CTO), Ebenezer Olawale Fapohunda; chief commercial officer (CCO), Babatunde Daramola Oniru; and chief financial officer (CFO), Julius Oyekola Olabiyi.
Ngelale said their appointment was in recognition of the critical role of power supply in driving enterprise and industrial development, and as a part of comprehensive efforts to reform the power sector and ensure energy security for all Nigerians.

He said Tinubu anticipated that with the full constitution of the management team, the FGN Power Company Limited would work assiduously to realise the core objectives of the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI) in close collaboration with Siemens Energy through a holistic overhaul, modernisation, and expansion of the national grid and other critical measures to ensure the growth of the Nigeria Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).

The President expects that these Nigerians who have been appointed on the strength of their experience, competence level, qualifications, character, and dedication will commit themselves wholly to realising the innovative and expansive energy vision of his administration, in addition to delivering consistently excellent service to the Nigerian people.
