Tinubu, Govs, Others Mourn Akwa Ibom First Lady

Preident Bola Tinubu and some state governors yesterday mourned Akwa Ibom State first lady, Mrs. Patience Umo. Eno

Her passage was contained in a government released by the state government.

It was signed by the commissioner for information, Comrade Iniobong Ememobong,

Her press secretary, the Tinubu, in a statement by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, commiserated with the family, government and the people of Akwa Ibom on the incident and joined them in mourning the state’s first lady.

He described Patience Eno as ordained gospel minister who embodied humility, resilience, and loyalty.

Tinubu’s wife, Remi, also extended  condolences to the governor, children, family and people of Akwa Ibom on the death.

In a statement, she said the late Patience  was a God-fearing remarkable woman, full of grace and compassion, and committed to her family, people of the state and the nation.

Similarly, the chairman of the Northern Governors Forum and governor of Gombe State, Inuwa Yahaya, expressed sympathy over the death.

Isma’ila Uba Misilli, the director general press affairs to Governor Yahaya, in a statement described Mrs Eno as a woman of great virtue, a loving mother, and a pillar of strength to her family and the state.

“Her loss has created a huge vacuum that will be difficult to fill, not only within her immediate family but across the state where her influence was deeply felt.

 

“On behalf of the 19 northern governors, Yahaya conveys heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Akwa Ibom State during this difficult time,” he said.

Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, also expressed heartfelt condolences to the governor, describing her as an exceptional philanthropist in a statement signed by his

special adviser, media and publicity , Babatunde Alao. He noted that Mrs. Umo Eno’s virtues and kindness had a profound impact on countless lives.

He encouraged Governor Umo Eno to draw strength from the divine will of God and the cherished memories they shared.

The minister asked that God Almighty grants the bereaved family, along with the entire Akwa Ibom community, the fortitude to endure this significant loss.

“May the soul of Mrs. Patience Umo Eno rest in perfect peace,” he prayed.

 

Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, expressed shock over the demise.

 

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Alabrah Diri described her sudden passage as a huge loss to her husband, the government and people of Akwa Ibom State.

 

The governor said the late Akwa Ibom first lady was a “solid pillar of support and a dependable partner” to her husband”.

 

“I share in the grief of my brother-governor of Akwa Ibom State over the very sad news of the passage of his dear wife,” he said.

 

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, Northern Senators and the governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, commiserated over the untimely death of his wife.

 

Akpabio, in a condolence message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh said he was immensely saddened by the death of the wife of the governor.

 

Former vice president Atiku Abubakar in a press statement by his media adviser, Paul Ibe, said the news about the death of the Awka Ibom first lady was devastating news.

 

Atiku said the late Mrs. Umo Eno was a remarkable woman who gave her best in the service of humanity and her family.

 

He shared in the grief of the Akwa Ibom people and urged Governor Eno to stand firm in the belief that his beloved wife has only gone to rest in a place of eternal peace.
