President Bola Tinubu has been urged to initiate moves for a national dialogue on reconciliation of major differences in the country to foster unity, economic stability and national security.
The All Progressives Grand Alliance 2023 deputy governorship candidate in Abia State, Hon Obinna Ichita said this in a statement made available to LEADERSHIP Weekend in Umuahia, the capital, yesterday.
He also appealed to the president to intervene and direct the commencement of processes for the release of detained agitators in the country including the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.
“This is in tune with the president’s 4-D diplomacy and is most likely to yield a predictable outcome as discussions will replace agitations,” the statement explained.
According to the former member of the State House of Assembly for Aba South constituency, these will be “in the spirit of the president’s Renewed Hope Agenda and in the interest of justice.
“It is my prayer that under his leadership, Nigeria will emerge a prime investment destination and an indispensable player in the global field.”
It stressed that as the national anthem is being replaced with the old one, the government and the people should reflect on the lyrics to build a prosperous nation where no one is oppressed.
“I commend the security strategies put in place by the president and for his efforts to institutionalise transparency in governance,” the statement added.
He also congratulated the Abia State governor, Alex Otti for his successful first anniversary in office, urging him to use the office to showcase the entrepreneurial capacity of the state to the world.
“The infrastructure development of the state under his administration is quite commendable and represents a visible shift towards the path of development.”
The former leader of the party in the state who noted that opposition politicians to the Labour Party administration have their right of criticism, advised them to be constructive for positive impacts.
