The PBAT Door-to-Door Movement has urged Nigerians to set aside ethnic and religious considerations and support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in the 2027 presidential election.
The movement’s national coordinator, Sunday Asuku, made the call in Abuja when he presented buses to state coordinators in 14 states to strengthen grassroots mobilisation for Tinubu’s second term.
Asuku said, “It is not the time to play tribal politics, it’s not the time to go after religious sentiments, it’s the time to see the future of Nigeria.”
Asuku added that the movement had put in place measures to ensure proper use of the resources being deployed to the states.
He said the vehicles would enable the coordinators to reach local governments, wards, polling units and households to canvass support for the President.
He explained that the latest distribution was intended to strengthen state-level operations, following an earlier presentation of vehicles to local government coordinators.
Asuku urged the beneficiaries to intensify community engagement and establish an effective feedback mechanism to communicate reports from the field to the movement’s national secretariat.
Asuku attributed the initiative to the movement’s founder and grand patron, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, whom he said believed Tinubu deserved another term to consolidate the achievements of his administration.
“Our founder and grand patron, High Chief Dr Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has made us understand that the President is doing well.
“He has done well in his first term. He should be given more time to consolidate what he has started in the last three and a half years,” he said.
The PBAT national coordinator urged youths, women and other Nigerians to support the President, arguing that continuity would enable the administration to advance its development agenda.
He cited infrastructure, human capital development, economic growth, technology and security as areas in which the administration had made contributions.
The Lagos State Coordinator, Hon. Amosu Kazeem Oluwatomi, said the movement would intensify mobilisation across the state through engagements with residents, community associations and individual households.
He described Tompolo’s support for Tinubu as evidence that the President enjoyed backing beyond his home region.
Oluwatomi expressed confidence that the movement would galvanise sufficient grassroots support for Tinubu in Lagos ahead of the election.
Similarly, the Kwara State Coordinator, Omuiyadun Hammed Dimeji, said the vehicles would facilitate engagements aimed at educating residents on government policies and the impact of the administration’s reform agenda.
He said the movement intended to promote policy discussions rather than political propaganda, urging voters to assess governance based on policies and their effects on citizens.
Dimeji also expressed confidence that Kwara residents would vote for Tinubu and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress in the 2027 elections.
