Troops of Sector 7 Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP) during stop and search operations at Samaru Village, in Zonkwa district of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State have successfully intercepted terrorists logistics suppliers, recovered weapons and arrested suspects who were traveling from Jos in Plateau State to Niger State
LEADERSHIP reports that the operation conducted at about 0940am today, Monday 13 July 2026, was part of the ongoing decisive and offensive posture of the troops aimed at disrupting criminal elements activities and denying terrorists freedom of action within Operation ENDURING PEACE Joint Operations Area.
According to a statement issued by the Media Information Officer of Operation Enduring Peace, Captain Chinonso Oteh in Jos said during the operation, troops successfully intercepted and arrested 6 suspects traveling by an ash-coloured Mercedes Benz with registration number: EDO GUE-722-LV.
The statement further disclosed that the suspects confessed that they were traveling from Jos, Plateau State to Niger State adding that items recovered included 3 AK 47 rifles, 4 Sub Machine Guns and a Mercedes Benz.
OPEP further stated that during the encounter one of the suspects attempted to flee and was immediately immobilized stressing that he is currently stable and cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
The statement also added that recovered items and arrested suspects are presently in custody for detailed interrogation and further exploitation.
 OPEP further commended citizens for their cooperation and continued support while urging them to remain conscious of their immediate environment and report suspicious individuals to appropriate security agencies.
