Troops Kill 10 Terrorists In Kebbi, Zamfara

Troops of “Operation Forest Sanity” have neutralised 10 terrorists in Kebbi and Zamfara states respectively.

A statement by the director defence media operations, Major General Musa Danmadami, said troops of Operation Forest Sanity deployed at Danali in Danmusa LGA of Katsina State on January 17, 2023, while on fighting patrol along Maidabino- Danmusa road encountered and engaged terrorists in a fire fight in which two were killed. The troops recovered two AK47 rifles and three MCs.

Also on January 18, 2023, troops while on fighting patrol to Dunya in Danmusa local government area of Katsina State encountered and engaged terrorists at Dangeza Village in a fire fight killing one.

He said the troops also recovered one AK47 rifle mounted on a motorcycle with two  magazines, and one  Baofeng HHR.

He said on the same day, troops conducted clearance operations to Malekachi, Munhaye, Awala, Mairairai and Kabari villages in Danko-Wasagu and Maru local government areas of Kebbi and Zamfara states respectively.

General Danmadami said troops encountered terrorists at various locations and engaged them in a fire fight killing seven.

Items recovered include; four vehicles and eight motorcycles which were destroyed. Troops also recovered three AK47 rifles,  one SMG, 32 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, one Baofeng radio, two laptops and 10 mobile phones amongst other items.

He said the military high command commended troops of Operation Forest Sanity and called on the general public to provide troops with credible and timely information on criminal activities.
