Troops of the Headquarters 63 Brigade/Sector 1 Joint Task Force, South South Operation DELTA SAFE have recovered seven rifles and two motorcycles during a raid operation in Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The Nigerian Army disclosed this in a statement signed by Iliyasu Bawa-Rijau, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 63 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Asaba, and posted on its official Facebook page on Friday.
The statement said the operation was conducted on June 4, 2026, following credible intelligence that led troops to a targeted raid in the Ibusa community.
According to the Army, the recovered weapons and motorcycles were discovered concealed in an abandoned police station within the area.
It added that the recovery forms part of ongoing operations aimed at flushing out criminal elements and strengthening security across Delta State under Operation DELTA SAFE.
Commander of the 63 Brigade, Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibare, commended the troops for what he described as their professionalism, vigilance, and resilience during the operation.
He urged them to sustain the momentum and intensify pressure on criminal groups operating within the region.
Shonibare reaffirmed the military’s commitment to denying criminals freedom of action in Delta State and other parts of its area of responsibility.
He also warned that individuals or groups involved in criminal activities, including those harbouring illegal arms, would face the full weight of the law.
