Tulip House has emerged victorious at the 8th Annual Inter-House Sports Competition held at the Noble Hall Leadership Academy for Girls. The event, which showcased spirited competition and sportsmanship, took place at the school’s sports field on its Idu Campus in Abuja.
At the conclusion of the day’s events, Tulip House proudly sat atop the medals table with a commanding 91 points. Dehlia House secured a commendable second place with 88 points, closely followed by Hydrangea House in third with 75 points. Irish House finished in fourth position with 70 points.
The vibrant occasion drew a distinguished crowd, including dignitaries, parents, teachers, representatives from invited schools, and former students, all of whom engaged in various activities, adding to the excitement of the competition.
Speaking to LEADERSHIP Sports, Mr. Yohanna Ejiday, the School Administrator, who was deputising for the Principal, Dr. Ashish Gill, lauded the students for their perseverance and exemplary sportsmanship. He described the competition as intensely competitive, reflecting the “Noble Hall way” of fostering excellence and teamwork. Mr. Ejiday also extended his gratitude to the parents, sponsors, the Board of Management, and the school’s Director, Mrs. Mariam Mutalab-Duba, for their invaluable support.
He further clarified that the presence of male students at the event was due to the school’s Sixth Form College, which admits both boys and girls, while the secondary school remains exclusively for girls.
Mr. James Bright Ahmed, the Vice Principal, hailed the event as both successful and inspiring, underscoring the crucial role sports play in complementing academic pursuits. He encouraged all students to maintain their motivation, regardless of their final standings, emphasising that every participant performed admirably.
Additionally, Mr. Mishagi John, the Sports Instructor, commended the athletes’ efforts. He particularly highlighted Dehlia House’s significant improvement, moving from fourth place last year to second this year, noting that the competition exemplified growth, determination, and healthy rivalry among the houses.
