Umahi Visits DUFUTH, Pays Patients’ Hospital Bills

The minister of Works, Senator David Umahi has paid an unscheduled visit to King David Umahi Federal Teaching Hospital DUFUTH Uburu, Ebonyi State, and doled out cash and other gift items to both indigent and other patients in the hospital.

There was wild jubilation among the staff and patients at the hospital as Senator Umahi arrived the hospital at about mid-day and was received by a team of medical doctors on duty and other staff of the hospital.

Senator Umahi took time to visit all the wards in the hospital to encourage and pray for the patients. He also assured them of his preparedness to continue to assist them.

He assured that he would continue to visit the hospital to ensure that the patients receive the best medical treatment.

He also charged the patients never to lose faith in themselves and the ability of God to heal them of their different ailments adding that in all they do, they should continue to put their trust in God.

Senator Umahi stated that the present administration of President Bola Tinubu is committed in ensuring that medical tourism is brought to an end adding that the present administration would ensure that all the medical institutions are well equipped to cater for the health needs of the people.

He urged the people of the South East zone and the country at large to continue to support the administration of President Bola Tinubu adding that the president has great plans for the South East region.

The minister of works who disbursed a cash donation of N100,000 to all the patients in the hospital also paid the hospital bills of some of the patients who has already been discharged but could not offset the hospital bills.

One of the beneficiaries, Chief Chukwu Ikpo, an Okada accident victim described Senator Umahi as a selfless politician, a God sent to his generation and kindhearted man adding that the gesture would go a long way in catering for his hospital expenses and other needs.

He commended the minister and assured that the patients and indeed all Nigerians are praying for the president who has shown commitment in transforming the country.

Other patients and beneficiaries who also spoke to journalists said that the visit of the minister has reassured them of government readiness to cater for their welfare adding that such gesture should also be emulated by other politicians.
