As part of efforts to rescue unemployed Nigerians, especially youths from the rapidly increasing labour market, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Waidi Shaidu, Ambassador Deborah Iliya, Nigeria Ambassador to Congo Republic, Ambassador Adekunle Azeez, UN Ambassador of Peace, Sir Cary Gouston and others, were among the eminent patriots with their global partners who launched the  ‘Mega 37 million digital literacy empowerment”

They applauded the project launched at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, LCCI auditorium, and said it was aimed at creating more jobs for Nigerians with updated ICT educational skills acquisition and training.

Speaking at the launch of the initiative, the chief host and Global President of “Global Clusters”, the body pioneering it, Ambassador Dr Adekunle Azeez, stated that it is a national movement set to ignite the digital skills, entrepreneurial capacity, and global competitiveness of 37 million Nigerian youths.

“This historic occasion is not merely the launch of initiatives, but for mindset orientation, mentorship, skills acquisition, and structured deployment of youths into productive economic and civil life for nation building“.

According to him, this movement sparks a digital platform, project A. R.E- Agriculture, Real Estate and Export, which opens  inclusive economic pathways for the participants, who will be trained for free by Global Clusters, to participate meaningfully in real value chains that create wealth, dignity and national productivity.’’

He called on governments and the public sector to encourage and sponsor Nigerians to take part in job-creating projects, which turn participants into employers of labour and help eradicate the alarmingly rising unemployment rate.

Earlier in his speech, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Waidi Shaidu, who launched the Global Clusters’ productive books for economic impact, such as  “Sacrifice and Service” by Dr Victory Nnadi, AWO (rtd), asked Nigerians to embrace knowledge to transform them from ignorance to productive nation-building agents.

The army chief, ably represented by Brigadier-General Ahmed Getso, the Commandant of the 81 Division of the Nigerian Army, implored Nigerians to write more books to promote literacy.
