Victor Boniface has found himself at the centre of an online debate after screenshots from his Snapchat account showed the different ways he responded to two fans asking him for money.
One of the fans, who described himself as a long-time supporter of the Bayer Leverkusen and Super Eagles striker, pleaded with Boniface to assist him with ₦100,000 for his school fees.
Rather than grant the request, Boniface jokingly replied, “As you dey follow me long time, you go know say I no go school. Follow my road drop out.”
However, his response to another fan painted a different picture. After receiving a message from someone who said they needed money to enjoy the weekend, the footballer asked the fan to send their account details, indicating he was prepared to help.
Boniface later shared both conversations on his Snapchat story, where they were quickly captured and circulated across other social media platforms.
The exchanges have since divided opinion online. While many users criticised the striker for appearing more willing to fund a night out than support a student’s education, others defended him.
The footballer has yet to comment further on the reactions.
