The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has said it is on a mission to salvage the country from the many ills inflicted on it by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking during an interactive session organised for North Central states chairmen, party officials, aspirants and stakeholders in Lafia, a chieftain of the party, Mr Barnabas Ejisi described the NDC as the messiah the country had been eagerly waiting for to steer it on the path of development.
According to him, the policies and programmes of the governing APC have brought nothing but pains to Nigerians amid rising insecurity, endemic poverty and general underdevelopment.
He noted that Nigeria and Nigerians face another golden opportunity to change the situation for the better by massively supporting the NDC whose mantra is to better their lives.
He said the party has trusted personalities such Seriake Dickson, Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso among others, with track records of achievements in their respective states and the country at large.
“Our national leader, Seriake Dickson, is not only a leader, but he’s also a visionary leader; he saw the future, saw what was about to happen. And the party came in at the right time to deliver Nigerians.
“If you know what Kwankwaso and Peter Obi stand for, and what they did as governors, the records of these two gladiators as governors are unequal.
“Nigerians need people who will serve, not to exploit them, NDC is about service. This is why our slogan is not power, it is service,” he stated.
He urged party members to show more interest in contesting for elective positions in their states.
The Plateau State chairman of the party, Mr Solomon Ndam, said the NDC has the antidote to end the rising insecurity and poverty in the North Central.
He commended the zone for accepting the party as the platform of choice, promising that the will reciprocate the gesture when it assumed power through massive development.
“The presence of NDC in North Central, means that the storm of hunger, the storm of insecurity in North Central is over by the grace of God.
“The storm of unemployment in North Central is over by the grace of God. But we can only overcome this storm , if we all mobilise to vote for the NDC across board, from bottom to top,” Ndam declared.
Nasarawa State chairman of the party, Mr. Dogo Shamma, said in just a space of few weeks, the NDC had grown into a leading opposition party with stable leadership across the country.
He said what sets the NDC apart among other parties was the stable leadership rooted in discipline, fairness and, justice at all levels focused in wrestling power from the ruling All Progresive Congress in 2027.
