The initiative championed by the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, seeks non-kinetic approach towards resolving the security challenges in the South-East region of Nigeria.

He said: “Today, as we celebrate the attainment of Deputy Speaker Benjamin Okezie Kalu to a greater height, we are reminded of the importance of maintaining peaceful coexistence between the North and the East and indeed all regions of our great country, It is imperative that we continue to foster dialogue, diplomacy, mutual respect, understanding, and collaboration, transcending tribal differences for the collective prosperity of our motherland.”

The Emir called on the deputy speaker to use the platform to cater to the poor and the indigent in the society, saying it will help to mitigate their economic challenges.

“Your leadership presents an opportunity to champion initiatives that will address the pressing needs of your people and promote inclusive development across Nigeria. We encourage you and all other elected representatives to set up foundations and endowments to give back to the society especually in the areas of education, skill acquisition and entrepreneurship. This will go a long way in cushioning the effects harsh economic situation being experienced by many ordinary Nigerians today.

“As a matter of significance beyond celeberating our achievements, let us not relent in prayer, seeking peace, devine guidance and prosperity for our beloved nation. May we continue to work together, guided by the noble principles of justice, compassion, equity and unity, as we strive to build a brighter future for all Nigerians.

“We congratulate the Deputy speaker once again, we wish you more blessings and more success and wish to assure you that, by the special grace of God almighty, your best is yet to come,” the monarch stated.
