Marlon and Shawn Wayans have signalled that a sequel to their beloved 2004 comedy White Chicks is firmly on the cards, with the brothers expressing strong enthusiasm for bringing the fan-favourite film back to the big screen.

The original film, directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans, followed disgraced FBI agents Marcus and Kevin, played by Marlon and Shawn, respectively, who went undercover as two socialite sisters to foil a kidnapping plot in the Hamptons.

It quickly became a cult classic and one of the most quotable comedies of its era, with fans spending two decades calling for a follow-up.

As far back as February 2025, Marlon publicly acknowledged the relentless fan demand during an appearance on Good Morning America.

“Every single day, they asked, ‘When are you doing the sequel?’” he said. “I think it’s time. Let’s get Scary Movie 6 done, and then we’re gonna go bring out the White Chicks 2.”

The brothers now appear closer than ever to making good on that promise. Their recent return to comedy with the sixth instalment of the Scary Movie franchise has delivered a massive vote of confidence, grossing $55 million domestically and surpassing $100 million worldwide in its opening weekend.

It is their biggest opener yet, signalling that the appetite for the Wayans brothers’ comedy remains as strong as ever.
