Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has given two reasons why his team failed to win the Premier League title this season.

In the last two seasons, the Gunners went head-to-head with Manchester City in the title race.
They were widely expected to topple City this term, but instead Arne Slot has won it in his first season at Liverpool.

This means Arteta’s men have now gone five straight seasons without silverware.

Arsenal was knocked out of the Champions League and Carabao Cup in the semi-finals and eliminated from the FA Cup in the third round by Manchester United on penalties.

When asked what the main reasons for not achieving their aims this season were, Arteta told Sky Sports:
“Red cards and injuries, for sure.”
