All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate for Abia State in 2011, Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba, has said that he was attracted to the Labour Party (LP) by the performance of state the governor, Dr Alex Otti.

The former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart also said he had collapsed his political structure, the Change Abia Organisation with its 197 affiliate groups across the state, into the LP.

Ufomba stated these when he and his supporters were formally received by the governor into the LP at Okpuala Ngwa, Isialangwa North local government area of the state.

”My decision is informed by the visible achievements of Otti’s administration and the need to align with a political movement that priorities the welfare and aspirations of the people,” he said.

Ufomba, who expressed gratitude to Otti and the LP for welcoming him and the supporters, assured of their commitment  to contribute to the sustenance of the performance and Otti’s 2027 victory.

In his response, the governor lauded Ufomba for his commitment to the development of the state and acknowledged his support for the administration’s reform agenda.

‎He said Ufomba’s decision was driven by his conviction that the LP-led administration is delivering tangible results and fulfilling its promises to the residents of the state.

‎Otti, who said the LP was founded on equity, inclusiveness, and equal opportunities for all members, noted that the interesting thing about it is that it doesn’t descriminate.
