Speaking about her love life during a recent interview with media personality, Hero Daniels, Phyna said she had not been able to get hold of another relationship since a 12-year-long romance left her heartbroken.

She said, “So I dated this guy for 12 years, not like it was a straight relationship. We had issues, it was on and off.”

She said that her lover at the time lost his dad and while she was serving as a physics teacher in the NYSC in Ikorodu, Lagos State, she agreed to attend the funeral.

She added, “I went to the burial, I got there he is a Muslim. I was seeing a strange Muslim girl. The way the family was giving her attention. His elder sister called me to the room and said he has to marry a Muslim girl.”

According to Phyna, she was not only pregnant at the time but also practising Islam because of him.

“I’m Catholic, yeah but inside all of that, I was practising Islam at some point because of him and then I didn’t know I was pregnant,” she said.

She further revealed that her ex-lover’s sisters and mother threatened to throw her bags out if she didn’t leave despite her willingness to convert to Islam.

“I left, I went back home and found out I was pregnant. I called him and he said that’s my business.

“I would have loved to keep the child but the embarrassment was too much. Not even one person in the family wanted a Christian and I felt I had a bright future and I knew it was going to draw me back so I was left to make the hardest choice ever,” Phyna stated.
