Following a stakeholders meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the North Central region which was held in Lafiya Nasarawa State last week, the North Central APC Forum has commended the stakeholders for not passing vote-of-confidence on the national chairman of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje.

The meeting, called to address the ongoing crisis within the party, was attended by the secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), governors, past governors, senators, and other critical stakeholders of the party.

But speaking with newsmen in Jos the Plateau State capital yesterday on the outcome of the meeting, the forum’s chairman, Alhaji Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, said the leaders from the region were aware of their collective struggle to reclaim the national chairmanship position of the party and didn’t disappoint by not passing vote of confidence on him.

He said the position is for the North Central region and not the North West region where Ganduje hails from, according to the party’s zoning arrangement.

Zazzaga who was also a member of the Presidential Campaign Council in the last election called on Ganduje to stop lobbying party stakeholders and members from the region and other parts of the country to let him remain in office.

He said Ganduje’s attendance of the North Central APC stakeholders meeting does not  change the resolve to make him relinquish the position for someone from their region to rightfully occupy the position.

The chairman further stressed that Ganduje has a plethora of issues to resolve in Kano State, ranging from his ward where he has been  suspended to the court suits from several quarters as well as  protests against him.
