Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has shared his admiration for Barcelona star Lamine Yamal and Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, declaring them both exceptional in their unique styles of play.
This season, both players have emerged as standout left-footed wingers, showcasing their skills in La Liga, the Bundesliga, and the UEFA Champions League.
In an engaging conversation with Berneese, the Nigerian international noted the difficulty in selecting the superior player due to their distinctive playing approaches. “That’s a tough one. Permit me to pick both,” Osimhen stated during a rapid-fire interview.
“These guys are truly unique in their craft. Their similarities lie in their shared foot preference, yet their game reading is markedly different. To choose one would be to do a disservice to the other. Hence, I’d have to go with both.”
Osimhen drew parallels to the legendary rivalry between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, stating, “It’s the same situation with Messi and Ronaldo for me. I appreciate both and have never felt inclined to choose one over the other.”
He further emphasised their impact on the sport, saying, “Those two have dominated for nearly 20 years. While some may indulge in comparisons, I hold a deep appreciation for both, and I am grateful for their contributions to football,” concluded the 2023 CAF Player of the Year.
