Babagana, who hails from Gaidam local government area of Yobe State, announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Baba Malam Wali.

In the letter obtained by LEADERSHIP in Damaturu, on Sunday, Babagana expressed deep frustration over what he described as the abandonment of dedicated party loyalists, particularly those who worked at the grassroots to secure victory for the APC.

“Accept this as formal resignation as Senior Special Assistant to Governor Buni effective immediately.

“I have come to realise that my efforts and contributions to the party at the grassroots level have been grossly overlooked. Despite my unwavering loyalty and dedication, I have been deliberately sidelined by the party leadership at both the local government and state levels,” the letter read in part.

He added, “I sincerely apologise for the abrupt timing of this announcement, however, due to unforeseen circumstances. I have decided to resign”.

Yakubu described his resignation as a difficult but necessary decision, following what he called the party’s “consistent neglect.”

He added that “I want to tell you that, as someone who believes in the ideals of our party, it pains me to see our government’s inability to fulfil its promises, leading to widespread disillusionment and a loss of trust among the electorate”, he said.

Babagana also criticised the APC-led administration in the state, accusing it of lacking the vision to address the fundamental needs of the people

He thanked Governor Buni for the great opportunities to serve in his government and wished him best as continues to steers ship of the state.
