Yobe State Ministry of Health (SMOH) and the State Primary Health Care Board (SPHCB) in collaboration with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) and other development partners will embark on a six-day diphtheria vaccination drive in eight local government areas of the state.
The campaign billed to reach the targeted children with Pentavalent and Tetanus Diphtheria (Td) and with other routine immunisation vaccines will be conducted in the eight local government areas of Bursari, Damaturu, Fika, Fune, Gulani, Jakusko, Nangere and Tarmuwa.
In a statement signed and issued by the head of department, information, Ali Musa Yawale, he said the exercise, which started yesterday was meant for children within the ages of six weeks to 14 years across the eight targeted local government areas.
According to him, the public is also to note that the exercise will be held at all the designated vaccination sites within the communities of the targeted eight LGAs.
He urged members of the general public, parents, guardians and caregivers to give their maximum support to the trained vaccination officials.
