Yobe State health workers have shelved their planned strike.

The deputy governor, Hon. Idi Barde Gubana, met with the leadership of the workers where an agreement was reached for the shelving of the action.

During the emergency meeting, members of the health workers association led by the chairman, Dr. Umar Ahmad Aliyu, presented their demands to the state government.

In his response, the deputy governor promised that the state government would look into their demands by the end of September 2024.

He appealed to them to suspend the strike and resume work, saying their services were valuable and commendable as they save lives of thousands of people.
