‘You Can’t Intimidate Us, Let David Address Me,’ Anu’s Mother Tells Davido’s Father Adeleke

Ayotomide Labinjoh, the mother of Anuoluwapo Michelle, a minor at the centre of paternity crisis involving Afrobeats star Davido, has responded to comments made by the singer’s father, billionaire businessman Dr Adedeji Adeleke, saying she will not be intimidated and insisting that Davido addresses her directly instead.

Labinjoh made the remarks in a post on Instagram on Wednesday, hours after Chief Adeleke dismissed the revived paternity claims and threatened legal action against blogger Kemi Olunloyo, during a press briefing at his Lagos residence.

In her statement, Labinjoh accused the Adeleke patriarch of abusing his influence and speaking on behalf of his son.

“Dr Deji Adeleke, you cannot intimidate us, sir. As the patriarch of the family, you should not be talking on David’s behalf. I’m not Sophia negotiating child support, etc. Let David address me,” she wrote.

She further alleged that members of her family had been pressured and infiltrated without her knowledge, claiming that her sister, Titilayo Labinjoh, had been in contact with Adeleke since the COVID-19 pandemic.

“To my shock, my own sister reportedly has been talking to Dr Deji Adeleke since the pandemic. About what?” she questioned.

Labinjoh accused the Adeleke family of using money and influence to monitor her family, alleging that her sister was used to “spy” on them.

“It took money for you to use a family member of ours to spy on us,” she claimed.

She also issued a warning, saying that if anything were to happen to her, her daughter or her mother, the authorities should hold Dr. Adeleke responsible.

“If anything happens to me, my daughter and my mum, the police should hold you responsible,” she stated.

Addressing claims about DNA testing, Labinjoh denied assertions that multiple tests were conducted in 2020, insisting she never met Adeleke during that period.

“Anu and I never met with you in 2020 for four additional DNA tests,” she said.

She also clarified the role of blogger Kemi Olunloyo, whom Adeleke accused of impersonation and spreading falsehoods against Davido and family.

“Yes, Kemi opened this page and took photos online. She handed the page to us in 2019. I am not a social media user and didn’t post for four years,” Labinjoh said.

She added that both she and her mother independently manage posts about the child and denied claims that Olunloyo was controling their social media accounts.

“We are not in touch with Dr Kemi, even though she posts about us,” she said.

During his Wednesday’s press briefing, Dr Adeleke accused Olunloyo of sustained defamation, impersonation and misinformation, alleging that she operates social media accounts in the name of the child and her family.

“She has been lying and lying, using an account that does not belong to her, impersonating a child and the child’s mother,” he said, adding that the family was considering legal action.

“For publishing this, we are going to consider suing her. It is getting out of hand,” Adeleke stated.

He insisted that several DNA tests had been conducted over the years, all showing that Davido is not the child’s biological father, describing the results as conclusive scientific evidence.

“Even if it is done 10 times, it will not change. It is like a fingerprint,” he said, adding that the same accredited laboratory handled tests for Davido’s acknowledged children.

Adeleke also revealed that he had personally supported Anu’s family for years, including paying school fees and providing monthly upkeep, without Davido’s knowledge.

The paternity dispute resurfaced in January after Anuoluwapo appealed on Instagram for a fresh DNA test, citing bullying and emotional distress. Davido responded on X, maintaining that multiple DNA tests had already returned negative results.

However, Labinjoh insisted that only one DNA test was conducted in 2014 and has called for a fresh, independently supervised test, alleging irregularities in previous processes.
