For her unguarded Utterances and threatening words against any electorate that refused to vote for Governor Dauda Lawal of the PDP in the next 2027 Governorship elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) called for the immediate arrest of Hajiya Rabi Madawaki, the PDP women’s leader in Zamfara state.

In a statement issued on Monday by the APC Zamfara state Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris Gusau, said that for the PDP Women leader to have voiced out threatening words against electorates ahead of 2027 on refusal to vote for PDP, the police and the DSS are highly needed for the arrest of such a woman.

The APC accused the PDP Women’s leader, Hajiya Rabi Madawaki, of throwing a strong warning to any electorate in the presence of the Governor’s wife, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, last Friday, that they would be beaten and even killed for refusing to vote for Governor Dauda Lawal.

“She said in Hausa language at a gathering held in Gusau on Friday,  16/5/2025, that translated as ‘anyone who does not vote for Dauda, we will maim, beat, kill him, ‘ (zamu ci ubanshi zamu yi mashi duka), she said these words repeatedly to send out her message and remind people of the state what they did in 2023.

According to him, elections are always supposed to be free, fair and non violent in a civilised society and that is why under a democratic setting such as what Nigeria is trying to accomplish, contesting candidates vying for elective positions go round the nooks and crannies of their areas of interest to appeal to the electorate to vote for them using mouth watering promises, some to be fulfilled after election with some never seeing the light of day.

“But threats to life and intimidation!!! No, those are the exact things Nigerians are trying to remove from the political scene with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu taking the lead through influences to get more people into his party, the APC and on his side, come the 2027 general elections.

“This came from a PDP leader who is a nobody in the officialdom of the state affairs, and if she could say this, what could the governor and his gang possibly be planning against the Zamfara electorate?

“We also want to remind security operatives in the state of the case of gun shooting PDP thugs with some of them arrested sometime ago, added to the PDP women leader’s declared threats, the government’s refusal to fully act against bandits and the non apologetic posture of the government as well as this writeup to form part of the evidence for any eventuality against people of the state.

“Meanwhile, we call on the security agencies, especially the police and DSS, to immediately arrest the women leader, Hajiya Rabi Madawaki, over her uncultured utterances;  moreover,  that any immunity does not cover her but is another familiar person on the street.

“APC as a strong opposition party in the state will not be intimidated by any threats from the Zamfara PDP government and should know that the people’s will must prevail.

“To digress a little but not out of context, recall that the Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC as a fallout of the 2023 governorship election that brought governor Dauda Lawal to office accused some influential serving and retired senior army officers of using the might of the gun and forcefully wriggling the governorship seat from the APC to the PDP.

Similarly, the APC as an opposition party in the state has consistently accused the governor Dauda Lawal-led administration of supporting armed bandits, banditry and his constant flagrant refusal to either sympathise with or assist victims of bandit attacks in the state.
